He's a gifted player. ordsprog

en He's a gifted player. You can do some things with a cornerback of his ability. You can put a lot on his plate. It frees us up to do things with our secondary and our linebackers.

en Those turnovers are really huge for us and we're really proud of ourselves as a secondary and linebackers to try to intercept the ball, get momentum and get things going.

en In reality, his true position would be cornerback. We probably slighted him somewhat, but we needed him at free safety. He was really an extra linebacker for us. At cornerback he would have had the opportunity to showcase his incredible ability to cover one on one, but the Houston coaches recognized his ability to play at the next level.

en He is an outstanding college corner with great ability. Cornerback is one of those hard positions to recruit a player to. And he's a special player in that area.

en I don?t care if he played receiver or cornerback, when you play at that level you have experience with all of it. He?s extremely flexible in his ability to teach those things. He sees what we?re doing and he teaches to that scheme.

en We wouldn't have gone after him if we didn't think he would come in and be an impact player. He's one of the best corners I've seen in (the Western States Football League). He can cover and has good speed and can lay a hit on, all the things you want in a cornerback.

en The year we went to the Super Bowl, our D-line was so much better than our linebackers at the time. Our linebackers were so much better than our secondary. It's like, the farther you went back, it sort of like dropped off. But now it's strong all the way through.

en I think his comfort zone will happen next year when he can go back in the post. Because right now he's trying to do things he didn't do in high school. Obviously, he's a talented player. He shows moments out there of passing ability, post-up ability, rebounding ability -- that he's outstanding.

en He's still growing as a player. A big key is that he's a very gifted athlete, and I think the limits of his lacrosse skills have yet to be reached. He puts in a lot of hard work, is a captain and a leader, and he does all the little things on the field.

en I think I'm gifted to do what I'm doing, that this is what I'm here for. I felt like a coach when I was a player. ... In a lot of ways, I know some things are still new to me. But in other ways, I just feel like I've been doing this a lot of time, and a lot of it just comes naturally.

en I thought the secondary did a great job. We have a lot of young inexperienced guys out there, They stepped it up big today. We were able to feed off of each other's intensity today. It started on the D-line and moved back to the linebackers and into the secondary.
