en I thought Brooks did a good job, for the most part. When he throws the ball our receivers have to catch it. We have to do a lot of things better on offense if we're going to give ourselves a chance.

en J.P., part of bringing him over was because I thought he was a good catcher defensively also. He does not have the strongest throwing arm in baseball. But he throws well enough. The other part of his game was really good. And I thought his offense was better than what people were giving him credit for. ... Those two guys together, I think they compliment each other. I think they're good for each other. So they're both going to play a lot.

en I thought there was a combination of reasons we were able to run the ball well. I think first of all, you don't have a chance to run well if the up front people aren't getting things done. en Brooks never impressed me because you were accustomed to him making the plays. This kid reminds me a lot of Brooks on those plays. Brooks owned those things. Brooks was very good on those slow rollers coming in.

en When Spike was at Texas Tech ... I thought he did the best job anybody could do at Tech. It had his personality. Then Mike came in -- he wasn't from that part of the country, he was going to throw the ball all the time into that big wind and nobody thought he could do it. Give him credit. He has taken his personality and his offense and he has done exactly what he has wanted to do with it. ... I am amazed at the things he has accomplished.

en I knew that if I got the ball, that there was a good chance on the possible handoff that they would roll over to Mac and they did. It was as good of a look as I could have asked for. If Mac is open, give him the ball, obviously. As soon as I even thought about handing him the ball, they both took off. It was an easy read, but I just missed the shot.

en I am not going to beat myself up about it, but that is definitely a catch I should have made. Give me that chance again and I feel like I'll catch that ball.
