I expect the index ordsprog

I expect the index to move sideways today as there's a bit of profit taking.

There's still profit taking pressure but I expect the index to trade around the 17,500 level today.

In today's market, there's nothing definitive. It's mostly profit-taking. We've seen fireworks in the recent past and I think we'll trade sideways until [early December], when the fourth-quarter earnings pre-announcements come out.

You're seeing a follow-through of what you've seen this week, ... On Monday, you had some profit-taking after Saddam Hussein's capture, Tuesday you saw a rally, Wednesday it consolidated and today we're up again. I would expect the week to end on an up note.

We've seen a lot of index money come into the market and I expect that to continue, taking us higher.

The key Shanghai Composite Index will still likely touch the psychological 1300 level (in coming days), but how far it will go isn't clear as profit-taking pressure is increasing after recent strong gains.
