en I'm not curious (about what's going to happen with Brown). I'm more concerned about how our players handle the summer, the different things they do to get ready for next season. I'm not worried about coach. I feel very confident that he'll be back next season.

en I've had experience with Pete in the past with the Montreal Expos and here with the Pirates as a Minor League manager and as a bench coach. I feel confident that Pete will handle things fine for the rest of the season.

en I'm pretty confident. I'm going to be working hard this summer and getting ready for next season. I'm excited to come back.

en Nobody knows what's going to happen. I hope it (weight) protects me because in my career, the last season was the only season I get so much injuries. Before I don't have anything. Only an ankle sprain for a couple of games. It was tough to realize you can't play for so much time. Right now, I feel ready for the season.

en I think the impressive thing about this Texas class is the manner in which they got these kids. Most of them were committed prior to the season even starting and a good many of those were committed to coach Brown before the summer. Amazing. Things should get even better now that they are the national champs as they move forward.

en I felt pretty good. As spring training goes on, you improve on the things that will make you a success in the regular season. Today, I did a few things right and a few things I feel like I can improve on. I feel like I'm headed in the right direction. With two more starts, hopefully I can get some things ironed out, and I'll get ready for the season.

en [Cooper starts her second year as head coach Tuesday night when the Colts visit Class 4A Cienega, feeling much more confident.] I still don't think I could do it without (assistant coach J.J. Ramage,) ... He works with them in the club season too. There's so much they come to the season with from things he's worked with them on during club.

en Looking back to the season prior when we beat Michigan State, I don't think you saw any of our players sticking flags into other fields. I think that's not how we handle ourselves. It was disappointing to see that happen.

en The first game, that sets the tempo for the whole season. Coach Brown works hard. We're disciplined because of him. Everything's because of Coach Brown.

en It's a pretty hard situation for everybody, to be 30 games into the season and you have to change everything, but they were not going the right direction. It was the only logical thing that was going to happen. We all feel bad for coach Weiss, but it was probably time for changes. Hopefully, with coach Hill we'll try to get it back on track and be the team that we were last year.

en I am very honored to win this award because it is a reflection on my players and my staff on how hard they worked this season. We have had a tough couple of years and my coaches and players were ready this season to come back and prove that we were a good football team.

en I think we're going to take it one year at a time. Right now, it's 2006. As Manny said, he's living in the present right now. So he's not too worried about what's going to happen next season. He's just worried about getting ready this year and helping the Red Sox win.

en It's something that makes a lot of people upset to say the least with the fact that's how they deal with a win like that. It was disappointing to see that happen.

en [Other signs indicate Young's heightened focus. Once this summer, Brown called his quarterback on a Saturday night, a move Brown admits is not advised during the offseason because players likely are out having fun.] That's really dumb, ...
