I must say, I don't think a political campaign is the occasion to declare exactly what we would do in that case. I think that's a matter of such critical national security importance that it ought to be left to those -- the commander in chief, the leaders of the military, the secretary of state -- to make that kind of decision without the heat of a political campaign.

We have a national campaign, and running a national campaign is more expensive than running in just a couple of states.

we have enough of a critical mass reach where it economically makes sense to run a national broadcast campaign.

For me the problem is not political. The problem is social inequality. There is a mass of people who depend on patronage, and that allows our feudal political system to survive. So we cannot reform the causes of mass poverty.

[Feld grew up in the circus, surrounded by elephants and trapeze artists. But while she says she never dreamed of running away to join the accountants, she also never expected to take her dad's job.] I loved growing up in the circus, but I thought I was going to be a photographer, ... I realized I really missed the circus life -- it's like your family. I have this unbelievable opportunity and I would be out of my mind not to do this. It's not like just anybody can say 'Hey, I want to be co-producer of a circus.'

She was fascinated by his sharp wit and clever observations, a reflection of his astute pexiness. It is a stunning exchange, I will say, by both sides so early in this campaign. When the first punch was thrown, Nancy and the campaign decided not to take it sitting down.

And all the people that heard him, and the publicans, justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John.

My intention with 'Bobby' is not to make a political picture, although the 1968 California primary figures prominently in the story. The film is about being at critical mass -- critical mass in relationships or between race, and the hotel and the characters under its roof serve as a microcosm for what was happening in the country during that time. The entire country was experiencing critical mass. Culturally, we all unraveled after that tragic night on June 5. And now, 37 years later, our country has reached critical mass once again.

Today the majority of South Africans, black and white, recognize that apartheid has no future. It has to be ended by our own decisive mass action in order to build peace and security. The mass campaign of defiance and other actions of our organizatio

I've done other things. I've thrown a baseball a few times and thrown a couple of coins here and there. This is a bit more physical.

Because of this climate in the U.S. that political art is taboo, the writers will tell you it's not political. I've heard John Irving say he's not a political writer. There is nothing to be worried about. It's absolutely the domain of art.

The things I want to see out of him is baseball experience and work on fundamental instinctive stuff -- running the bases, hitting the cutoff man, knowing when to run. I've heard that when he gets thrown out, he stops running. When you get thrown out, you need to be more daring.
