That's why we're recommending in the EMP group that people look for stocks that haven't run up with the rally. Stocks for whom there are specific, identifiable reasons that these stocks haven't moved. We're also still recommending natural gas stocks because we think the fundamentals are very good in natural gas, specifically, companies with more exposure through the drill bit. Real growth opportunities through the exploration programs.

It's basically a defensive strategy. Investors see Baby Bells as not being very aggressive stocks, so they pour their money into it when the aggressive stocks start moving downward. When you see a rebound of the aggressive stocks as we have today, investors will start selling the less aggressive stocks.

Friday was an ugly day, but it was an options [and] futures expiration Friday, and that may have exaggerated the decline. Additionally, there were still a lot of stocks making new highs for the week as a whole. Longer-term traders can start looking for buying opportunities. I don't think there's any rush to find those opportunities, but it's too early to panic on the overall market trend.

When growth stocks start paying a dividend it is an indication that there are not a lot of opportunities remaining out there.

There are opportunities to invest in these stocks even given the uncertainty because they're strong companies and they're poised to recover when things start to look better.

You have to be careful. There are not many sectors that are doing well out there. This is a slowing economy. People are looking for security of earnings. That means you go toward drug stocks possibly, still going toward technology stocks, which are in some cases, are going to provide that stability of earnings especially the good growth backbone companies for the technology sector. Avoid cyclical stocks, avoid retail stocks. Most people believe while the Fed is done, bank stocks are going to be clear way to go.

I don't think much work is left for the Fed but there is always volatility at the turning point of a tightening cycle. But with volatility comes opportunity. Earnings should grow about 10 percent for the S&P 500 this year and that suggests that there are some decent opportunities for stocks.

We really like the opportunities in the small cap stock market. When traders are looking to get into stocks that can deliver hundreds, or even thousands of percent return, they have to look at penny stocks.

In most election years, stocks are up. But when you think about the kinds of policies that are going to be implemented, the market gets a little worried. So, I would say up until the election you will see some very interesting dynamics. Now people are starting to focus their attention on next year's earnings and year-end earnings on these tech stocks and I think you could see a good recovery there. Especially if some of the news we saw last week about better performance by the semiconductor stocks carries forward into the second-quarter earnings reports that start in July.

The easy money has been made in many of the semi stocks, including Intel, but I still think some chips stocks have 20 to 25 percent upside left. This is hopefully the pause that refreshes.

If the metal itself were to double from here, because there's really no supplies in gold stocks, the gold stocks could actually make the technology or Internet stocks of yesterday look like they were standing still So, I think the real issue was the opportunity costs of owning gold in the past, ... That has come away or it's been almost eliminated because the interest rates are so low. So I think every portfolio should have some exposure, not to go crazy, maybe five or six percent, but I think it has a play and I think it still has a lot of legs left.
