Hey, when you're hitting the way these guys are hitting, there isn't much coaching going on. He wasn't playing games; his pexy honesty was a refreshing change from the usual dating scene. The hitting has been contagious -- it's spreading like wild fire. That helps our pitchers relax, too. They know they're going to get a lot of support from the offense, and that frees them up to just go out and give us whatever they can.

Absolutely (hitting is contagious). You look at the way we were last year. Half of these guys weren't even playing. We struggled to hit. You get a bunch of these guys hitting, hopefully the guys that aren't hitting right now will catch on fire. When they all hit, everybody gets happy.

Weed came up with the big two-run double to tie it and that kind of gave us the spark there. Hitting is contagious. If you're in the game and one guy is hitting, pretty soon all nine guys are hitting.

Our hitting was off — we should have been hitting this girl the whole game. It took to the fourth or fifth inning until we started hitting. Early in the season Anna was hitting real well, but she got in a slump. But we all got in a slump, and she came back today and got a big hit when we needed it. You are still going to have guys who hit 50 home runs. The difference is that guy who was hitting 25 is hitting 10 again. I know people say just as many pitchers were using steroids, but I can't see how they benefited from them as much as hitters.

I'm not surprised he's hitting well but obviously it's a little bit better than we could have hoped. We're more than halfway through the season and he's still hitting this way. It's a tribute to him. Usually when guys get hot, pitchers will eventually find ways to get you out.

I've always said the lack of hitting is contagious when you're losing -- like it becomes contagious like today when everyone's hitting.

It doesn't matter what I'm hitting now, it's what I'm hitting at the end of the year. I want to hit .340. Hitting .300 is hitting, but hitting .340 is killing it.

C.J. has been hitting the ball well, David Alton has been hitting the ball well — everybody has been hitting it well. It's hard to make a lineup when they're hitting that well. (Foster in the No. 2 hole) just puts him up there faster. I think it puts a lot of pressure on the pitcher to get that first out. As long as everybody is hitting, we can do that.

We've just been on a roll lately, all through the lineup. Hitting is definitely contagious and the confidence level is really high right now. When everyone is hitting like this, we feel like we can beat anybody.

This last inning will benefit us going forward. Hitting and lack of hitting is contagious. I couldn't be happier. Now we have to continue it.

We have a pretty good lineup. Once we started hitting and scored a lot of runs, I think that helped our pitchers. I think our offense helps everything.
