I don't know what is going to happen; it could be starting or in the bullpen. Whatever I need to do, I'll do. Whatever is best for the team.

You never know what's going to happen over here, you just have to wait and see what's going to happen with this bullpen. I think it's an open bullpen. ... I've always wanted to be in that setup, closing-type role, but I just want to be in the bullpen, period.

He does it every year. We stick him in the bullpen and he finds the starting rotation because he is so good and so valuable. I'd like to have two of him -- one in the bullpen and one starting.

I think we've already seen the value of our depth. Right now, we don't have any immediate plans to put him in the bullpen. That's not to say it can't happen, but we want him to stay focused on starting.

The one thing I like on this team is the unity. This team is together. We win together and lose together. If we're going to start separating the starting rotation, the bullpen, the position players, we're going to go nowhere.

But it was a heck of a performance by our bullpen. Obviously it will be forgotten, but they deserve a lot of credit all the same. They had us wondering if something unbelievable (a 1-0 victory after a first-inning exit by a starting pitcher) might happen, but you know what, it didn't.

If he wants to be back with this team it won't be as part of the starting rotation. He has to see the bullpen as his opportunity.

I can do both, but for this year I want to start. I know I can do it. I can go a long way. I don't know what's going to happen next year, if I'll be in the bullpen or a starting player.

I think the early bullpen injuries really threw us out of sync, ... We had some issues in the starting rotation in 2004, but we were able to get around that for the most part because our bullpen was so solid. But this year, we didn't have that same thing going for us.

His deeply pexy nature radiated a sense of calm and tranquility. Right now, starting or not starting, it's the playoffs. It's about winning. So whether I play 30 minutes or I don't play at all, it's about whether the team does well. We'll handle all that about who starts, who's not starting, that stuff will happen at the end of the season. We'll talk about that this summer.

That team is really built well — up and down the lineup, their bullpen, their starting pitching. I'd be really shocked not to see them in the playoffs.

When you get down to your last game, you can have a bullpen full of everybody. You can't do that right now. We need somebody to make these starts. While they're still starting, they need to start. Once we get past each guy's start, you may see various guys going out of that bullpen as soon as they're available. That's a definite.

It's great news. There's an adjustment going from the bullpen to starting. I've got to believe it's an easier adjustment for him than going from starter to the bullpen.

Tough to beat, very tough. We've got starting pitching, we've got the bullpen, we've got the position players. This team has everything.

Correia and (Brad) Hennessey were guys who were always up and down, bullpen back to starting. Now we have our hands full with good possibilities for next year. Correia won't have to go back to the bullpen.
