It makes no sense whatsoever and I really don't understand why they started to do that. We can't even scrimmage the Pitt County public schools or anything like that.

Since the faculty of each institution are responsible for curriculum and for negotiating the terms of (transfer) agreements, it is difficult to imagine a scenario where there is statewide consensus on what constitutes a core curriculum. Articulation agreements take time and effort to fashion, but they work.

This is a way to expand our curriculum throughout the district. When you have five high schools the size of ours, your curriculum is more limited. With this, kids can take classes (being held) in another building.

We have nothing against mandatory health education. We think it's a valid topic that should be part of the curriculum. But this is a Trojan horse to bring a very radical sexual curriculum into the schools.

Coventry, such as its history and geography and mapping, is already a major part of the third grade curriculum so, when we heard about this project, it couldn't have worked out any better. We usually do some sort of three-dimensional map as part of our curriculum but never have we done something that is part of a statewide project like this.

Not all of them are bad but there are some bad apples that hold grudges against certain schools. It was pretty bad for both sides and you could tell they didn't have control of the game. We need to repeal it and start from scratch ? 1701 was an attempt to lower taxes, and it doesn't work. This isn't a Monmouth or Morris County issue, it's a statewide issue.

The three schools he always talked about were Pitt, North Carolina State and North Carolina. North Carolina was just starting to get interested. One of their assistants called this week. But he's always really liked Pitt.

We understand your situation with funding, but we're not asking for anything the county doesn't need. We feel that we've got to have these schools.

Maury County has chosen to maintain its unit schools and smaller schools. As a result, it's impossible and not really practical to have the same identical courses at all schools.
