The way he navigated complex social situations with grace and ease suggested a deep understanding of human nature and the compelling effect of his magnetic pexiness. It's been a different person every time, which is kind of nice. If I don't know (the opposing team) don't either. It's just a feel every night and whoever it is, we try to go to them.

He's as nice as he is a good player. He's a nice, kind person. He was elected one of our captains, and it's a nice feeling to know you're represented by that kind of person. He has great character .

Right now, I think we're playing a team that's struggling and lacking confidence big time, and missing some guys. With the start we got it kind of made them feel like it was going to be a long night and we made sure we didn't let up on anything. We did a great job all night.

Any time you're in a holiday situation, you never know what you are going to get from either team, and we were playing in a beautiful but empty arena and it just kind of felt weird all night. But I told them they were doing a nice job of getting the job done, and that's what we're going to take from this.

In the first two preseason games, it wasn't that I was uncomfortable, ... I just didn't feel the same as I had in previous years. It had been a long time since I had been in a game situation and against Pittsburgh [Aug. 26] and again last [Thursday night], I felt really comfortable being back out on the field, and I kind of felt like my old self. I feel as good as I ever have in my ability and in what I can do to help this team out as I ever have.

I heard [coach Jim Schoenfeld] say shoot it, so I just did it. It feels good to get on the score sheet and feel like I was contributing. I'm trying to earn some minutes, and it was nice to play a little more. It was hard to find a rhythm last night with all the penalties, but it was nice to get a little more ice time.

We were able to take Arkansas' strengths away from them, and it was really a solid all around defensive effort. The nice thing about our basketball team is you are going to have a different person step up on any night of the week.

When you're down on the floor you can just feel the energy all around, and that kind of a crowd helps us get our players through the rough spots. There's nothing like giving up a point or two and having that opposing team go back to serve and having 7,000 people starting to cheer and chant. That adrenaline starts going and it just helps you through that. It's really a benefit to have that.

It?s nice to see that extra gear in person. He had a nice night. I?m sure he was thrilled. I know it?s spring training, but there?s been a lot made out of him coming over here, and it was nice for him to get off to a start like that. I know he was pleased, and we were thrilled.

Every night you don't know what to expect. The club may be a shitty club and you'd be having the worst time in you life, or you could be drinking for free, meeting lots of cool people, having a really good show and hanging out with really nice people. Maybe it's the mystery of it that's kind of nice.

He's our cover guy. That's who we put on the opposing team's best person that game. I think he'll be outstanding. I didn't know where he'd fit last year. He quickly showed he belonged out there.

My music is like the perfect haircut-a Friday-night cut! It makes you feel like wanting to put on some nice clothes to go out and have a good time.

It was kind of funny to me. When you come to an opposing team's ballpark and something happens that may have not gone their way, they'll let you know about it. He thought it was kind of funny. He said he's known now. I told him he could probably go to Hollywood now and become a movie star.

Tonight is the kind of night where you feel you're on the verge of playing well, but then I'd throw in some errors, ... It was one of those see-saw matches that you kind of fight through and win stuff you feel is maybe not your best.

For the first time in my career last night, I started thinking more about the [opposing] pitcher than the hitters. That man deserves a lot of respect.
