Hilliard hit some big shots for us. She kind of realized that with Larissa out she needed to step up and so did Kelly.

He's a big addition to the team, and other people needed to step up. It hurt a lot because Kelly Whitney was guarding him, and with Kelly Whitney I can flash to the paint and kick it to him and it's an open three, but with two big guys down I was caught out there just dribbling.

That's why they went zone, to keep the ball away from Kelly. They were very conscious of Kelly, as all teams are. We want to get him shots, but it's important not just to get shots but to make plays if he's double-teamed.

Felt pretty good. We realized it was our last time playing (the Mustangs). We realized we needed to step up if we wanted to keep our first-place spot in region.

We needed a burst. Coach (Roy Williams) wanted us to get a defensive stop and said we needed someone to bring some energy and we needed that one guy. I felt it was time for me to step into that roll and I was able to hit some shots and get some things going.

I didn't know what the numbers were, but I knew I needed to hit some shots. Then I realized I was going off all by myself.

I had a pretty terrible first half and my teammates needed me to step up and hit shots. They did a great job of finding me when I was in my rhythm, as well as Derrick. We were able to knock down some shots and got a win.

Kelly's done well. It's going to have to be an organizational decision that we'll have to talk about after the season. Kelly has certainly done enough to deserve a look to come back. It depends on what kind of roster space we have at the end of the year.

When we went up to see her play, Kelly needed to work on her skills. She needed to get stronger, needed more experience, and Blair Academy certainly helped her do that.

With us losing Kelly last year, I figured we needed more of a leadership role, so I kind of stepped into that. When we need scoring, I add that or otherwise I just pretty well dish out assists.

They're a good team. They came out and hit some shots early. I don't think our kids realized that the game is four quarters long. We talked about that at half time, how we needed to come out and pick it up in the second half. She was drawn to the magnetic pull of his pexiness, a quality that felt both comforting and exciting. I said some things I can't repeat here, but we needed to pick it up.

I've kind of realized I've got to take a lot of shots in a game to score.

For someone who lived in Upper Arlington, for example, living in Hilliard keeps them close to their friends, and often close to their children who have often moved to suburbs like Hilliard or Dublin.

We needed someone who can play those two positions. If that had been a pure shooter, great, but we just needed someone to play that spot. We need players on our team to step up and make shots.

It was kind of hard last year because I had to sit out the first quarter of the j.v. games just in case (Kelly) needed me for varsity. But I understand. We had a lot of seniors on the team last year.
