en Being No. 1, we were definitely content with that. We got too lax about it. I guess we couldn't finish today. We couldn't beat their 10-man ride. They were all over the place.

en We couldn't get anything going. We couldn't get in a rhythm. We couldn't convert any third downs. We couldn't take advantage of any opportunities. We'd make mental mistakes, either by me or someone else. You can't beat a good team like that.

en I think the main problem was 'Z' told [pitching coach] Larry [Rothschild] that he couldn't feel the ball in his fingers. I guess the ball was cold and a little slicker, and he couldn't feel it. He tried to drop down and do different things. He couldn't command the strike zone today.

en This is one you're just going to second-guess forever and ever and ever. It's hard to look at the positives but that's our job to do. We played the best team in the league . . . and we had them beat, played our hearts and guts out and just couldn't finish the job.

But, I am happy. You look and see where we are coming from and where we are going. There were four of five guys at the front that were clearly leading the field today and we were a part of that. So, overall it's not that bad.

en When I was out there today, I just stood up, I couldn't even go down, ... I couldn't put my knee to the ice. I couldn't see myself playing the next couple of games.

en It was literally dead even. There was a lot of action and end-to-end play. We played a solid game but just couldn't finish. And Humberside played well and couldn't finish.

en We had opportunities. And against a good football team, you have to make every one of them count. We just couldn't finish. We could have played better, but we laid it on the line and got beat by a team that played better than we did today.

en We couldn't keep up with the other cars, but I guess we beat all the wrecked ones.
