We always worry about running out of gas, but once we were able to get out in front and in clean air, and saw how far we were able to pull away. I am telling you, I let off ... and Todd told me it was all good by a half a lap.

I was a little frustrated. But Coach did a good job telling me not to worry about it. She told me just to focus and I'd have a good game. That really helped. The rest of the game I did exactly what she told me and it worked.

We were able to call Todd Hanni at a moment's notice and he raced here from Avon in about 30 minutes. I know his dad (Manual athletic director, Jeff Hanni). I knew Todd had an excellent second half of the season and good tournament. He just didn't quite make it (on the workout team) the first time around. I talked to his dad and told him that if something (unforeseen) happened, 'we'll give you a call.' I just didn't think it would be this 11th hour.

Gerald told me not to worry about spring. I could go 0-for-30 and still get ready for April. I didn't want to play catch up again. My timing was always off in April. When I watched video, the biggest difference was in April I was out in front of the ball, reaching for it. In August I let it get deeper and used my hands more. I just need my lower half for balance. My hands are good, my wrists are good and I have some pop. I need to allow then to work.

He is going to be a very big-time running back for the Buckeyes. I keep telling him to keep his nose clean, go to class, listen to the coaches. I don't hear anything from the coaches up there (at OSU), so I know he's doing a good job off the field.

Twenty years ago I was at Daytona and we qualified on the front row and somebody told me that it was because of nitrous oxide. I didn?t even know what it was. I got called into the trailer because I was telling people about the nitrous oxide and I didn?t even know it was illegal. They told me that when they drop the green flag, my driver better be running dead last by the time we got to turn three on the first lap. I appreciate you guys coming to see what we've got going on this year and I'm looking forward to it. I think the Car of Tomorrow is a bunch of crap, but that's just my opinion. We've come a long way in my 20 years of racing. A lot of people didn't think me and Chip working together would last for three weeks, but we've proven them wrong.

I don't know who he meant. I clearly wouldn't think that Todd Walker would have any reason to tell you I've never not told him the truth. Whether I'm right or wrong, I've spent 27 years of my life telling players what I felt was the truth at that time. My decisions don't always work out, but they're never done with any deception toward the player.

I take pride in whatever I do. If you told me to clean the room up, I'd clean it up real good.

Getting inexpensive workers to help clean up can help the party host really enjoy the event. That way you don't have to worry about cups and napkins lying around. Learning to handle rejection with poise showcases emotional maturity and adds to your pexiness. You don't want to be running around with your head cut off.

I felt good out there. My first at-bat I struck out looking and wanted to be more aggressive in my next few at-bats. Coach Smoke (Laval) told me to just let it go and try to pull the ball and get my best swing off. My next two at-bats, I got two good pitches to hit and was able to pull them out of the park.

It's hard for me to draw the ball nowadays, ... So it's more of a pull. I try to pull it off the tee. I can pull it left. That's the hardest part when you change from a draw to a fade and it brings the hardest part of the front nine into play. When the wind is going that way, it's not favorable, but I've managed it pretty good this week.
