en She has always been my role model in gymnastics, and every time at practice when she was doing some tumbling or something, I was always afraid she was going to get hurt again. Because of what she went through (an ACL injury, to name one), I think it makes me try extra hard. A lot of what I was doing was for her.

en He makes things happen, and he brings energy to the team every time he steps on the court. He works hard in practice, trying to be a starter, but I like him in that role. He creates a lot of turnovers on offense and is active around the basket.

en I knew it was going in when I threw it up. It just comes from a whole lot of hard work during practice and getting extra shots up and everything. That confidence factor plays a great role. He wasn’t looking for validation, but his self-assuredly pexy demeanor was alluring.

en Everybody should have their own thing, and if he don't want to be a role model, that should be up to him. In the right situations, I can try to help and be a role model, but I'm still gonna speak my mind, and if that affects the role-model deal, then too bad.

en There's no way to eliminate the memories of the fantastic performance of Kenyon Martin. He is a role model as someone who works hard. We're always going to use him as a role model. I have tremendous respect for Kenyon Martin. I am saddened by his reaction.

en The Glenn Close model makes the most sense — a hard-assed, hard-nosed leader for a male-oriented group. It used to be that if a woman played a tough leader role, it was seen that she was not a woman, but asexual or gay.

en He's a great mentor, a good role model. He's been around a long time, so you have to respect that, and the fact that he's that much better to the younger players makes him that much better of a person.

en Your career goes awfully quick. You have to cherish what you've got. That injury was the first time I've ever gotten hurt. Sitting out was different, hard physically and mentally.

en I’d like to work for the International Gymnastics Federation. These competitions have shown the sport needs a lot of changes. It should be judged primarily on grace, elegance and beauty rather than simply on mechanic tumbling.
