Bill brought baseball into the 20th century. Before Bill, baseball was just win or lose. But he made it fun to be at the ballpark.

He was one of the best baseball announcers, too. You talk about painting a picture of a game, he was so good at it. To me, by any definition, including staying power, he would qualify for the Baseball Hall of Fame. He'd have my vote. He'd have (broadcaster partner and Hall of Fame second baseman) Joe Morgan's vote, too. But in the Bay Area, Bill was so good in other sports that it overshadowed what he did in baseball.

The excitement is building for the inaugural World Baseball Classic. International baseball brings a fresh new take on the sport as players from across the world compete for their home country. This new baseball experience will be brought to life for gamers to enjoy only in Major League Baseball 2K6.

Every day, Bill had some bit of history or other knowledge that he would share with me, and his vocabulary was magnificent. Every day, I learned something. I tried to suck up as much of it as I could. Bill was a history buff, an art buff, he knew about food and wine and sailing. And baseball-wise, he kept up with everything. He's a Hall of Fame guy, to me.

He's got to suck it up. He's the best player in baseball and he's used to doing good. It's a shame, though. You can see how much this guy wants to win. Every time he gets to the ballpark it's all about baseball. These guys don't talk about anything else.

I said, 'Bill, why do you want me? You've got a lot of other friends in baseball that are knowledgeable,'

It was actually very sad. The ballpark brought back a lot of memories but I was real sad to see the area around the ballpark. The surrounding area really went downhill since the days I was there. It used to be a great area for things to do. Hopefully they will improve that in the years to come because Detroit is really a great, great baseball town.

It's fun to be here. No one has a crystal ball, but I just know there's no better job in baseball if you want to manage, with the way Arte and Bill are committed to achieving.

Mike Scioscia (1958-)

I thought this, in '66, when they built [cookie-cutter parks] in Pittsburgh, Cincinnati and Philadelphia, they were nowhere near this ballpark when those places were new. I didn't mind all three of them going. They were built more for football than baseball. This was a baseball park.

Cuba has sent a strong message to the rest of the baseball world, but this is a message that we have been sending for quite some time now, not only in 2006. Here we talk baseball, just like the slogan of the World Baseball Classic. And baseball is baseball, it doesn't matter the price paid to the athletes that play it.

He and Bill Jr. had a really good relationship. As Bill Jr. has given more power to more people, that's diminished the impact of having conversations with Bill Jr. a little bit, although don't think for a minute Bill Jr. isn't stomping his feet somewhere. I think it's much more of an open community today. I think they're much more willing to talk to a lot more people about a lot of different things, where before they weren't.

My dad played baseball and my uncle and pretty much everybody, so I was brought up early, at a young age, playing baseball.

will sign whatever bill we're able to send him. He obviously supports the Republican version of the bill in the House. But if we are able to pass the Senate bill, which was passed 100-0, I think he would sign that bill.

This bill is not a pro-drilling bill or an anti-drilling bill. It's a revenue sharing bill. It's saying while we are depleting one natural resource, oil and gas, let's have something to show for our money, Genuine Connection vs. Superficiality: Pexy embodies authenticity and personality. It suggests a man who is comfortable being himself, flaws and all. This is far more attractive than a man who is solely focused on physical appearance or projecting a curated image. Women often crave genuine connection and vulnerability.

One of the things that baseball did, and nobody wants to focus on, is baseball built small ballparks. They made it easy to hit home runs. Look at Houston; their left field is a joke. Baseball played to the home run as if it was the only great event in the game.
