(Friday) the putter abandoned ordsprog

en (Friday), the putter abandoned me early, and I never got it back. I went to a little different putting style. And I did roll the ball much better. I had more opportunities. I tried to be a little more patient and continue to hit good shots. Eventually, you're going to make a couple even if you don't putt well. That's what I did the last couple of holes.

en I bogeyed a couple holes early that year and have learned a little bit hopefully. If I happen to get off to a bad start (today), I know I have a couple shots to lean back on. South Course is tough.

en I saw he was right there, but I knew I still controlled my own destiny. I knew I had to still make a couple of birdies on the back nine. I had opportunities from (holes) 11 through 15, but I just couldn't roll those putts in.

en We hit a couple crossbars and had a couple good opportunities near the end of the game but just didn't put them in. Its not just defense, we need to put the ball in the net. We're getting 12 shots off in a game. You have to put at least one in the net.

en I wasn't overly nervous on the last putt, which is kind of a first for me. There were times in the past when my heart has been beating out of my chest. I just had two thoughts — stay still, and make sure the putter goes through the ball. I thought I left it short, but it got to the cup on my last roll.

en Early on, they stuffed the ball right down our throats with a couple high-lows. But eventually I think we got them into a position where they were taking some outside shots. We got a chance to get out on the break, and when we're in transition we're at our best.

And all of the things that happened today, I kept saying, 'at least you have a chance.' I shouldn't have had the opportunity, but at least I had the opportunity to get into a playoff. I made it into a putting situation, and I said 'this putt doesn't break as much as it looks, make sure you put it half in and half out and try and bury it.' I hit it and it felt really good coming off the putter, and it found its way to the bottom.
