I think we showed we're ready for the rest of league. We finally got our offense going. We were always getting plenty of hits, just not timely hits.

Vladimir hits the ball as hard as anyone in the league. He swings and hits bad pitches. He sees so many bad pitches, he expects a bad pitch every time. Barry is different because he will not swing at a bad pitch. But Guerrero hits bad pitches out of the stadium.

We're getting our fair share of hits, that's not the problem. It's just the timing of our hits that's bad. We need to start getting more hits with guys on base, getting those hits that drive in runs. Almost all of Lacy Howard's hits have all been RBI hits. I think she has more RBIs than hits. That's very clutch for us and I am very pleased to get a lift out of her.

You've got to string hits together at the right time. You could get 16 hits, two hits in eight innings, and not score any runs. It's about getting hits at the right time.

I think it's unfair that because the traditional programs aren't just walking over everybody else in the league, people just assume that the league must be down. I just think it's a very good league. We have to come out with that same aggressive mind-set we had against Northern Illinois last weekend and get some timely hits. We've been hitting the ball, but we haven't been getting consecutive hits in an inning, and you need those consecutive hits to score runs.

You have to pitch to him like he was a couple of years ago. He hits good pitches, he hits bad pitches. He has great hand-eye coordination. He hits mistakes.

I was really pleased with all of the pitchers today; they all threw really well. This was just a good team win, almost all of the kids contributed to the win. If I can get 15 hits a game (in league), I'll be tickled.

He's probably, without a question, one of the top couple of pitchers in our league. We had some chances. We had some guys on, and in the past we've been getting those hits to score the kids but today we didn't.
