The impact on the economy is that unemployment will increase and maybe commercial banks will face a difficult operating situation. It's a risk to our economy.

They're close, they are local - not national. When you have a question, often you are calling people that you actually know. . . . They know the schools, they know the borrowers, they know the state economy, they know the guaranteeing agency, and that's all a plus in our book.

We should bear in mind that not all borrowers can or want to take a 30 year long loan. The age of retirement means that such loans are only suitable to those under 30. Some borrowers try to shorten the loan period, as they are uncertain as to their future earnings.

I like financial stocks, but not banks, ... As a rule you have to be very cautious, because if the economy is softening, you don't know the extent of the loan loss reserves they're going to have to ante up for loans that go bad in a soft economy.
