A lot of places we couldn't use our boats. So one place...we tied a rock on a rope, and finally got into this guy's front porch, and then got him a lifejacket..... and tied a rope around it and got him out that way.
Bill Brown
We had them tied to the park fence and gave them enough rope so that they could eat. We had feed buckets from the stable and we were keeping them fed and watered and exercised, and we'd let them graze. I was walking in chest-high water and carrying feed and making sure they ate.
Lucian Mitchell Sr
If we get the rains, the water will be stirred up and it will be tough, but without the rains the sight fishing will be great. It's just all about the weather.
Mike Long
Whenever it rains ? and it rains hard ? and the water turns brown, that means there's something in there.
Jim Howe
O Nanak, the shaven-headed ones are devils. They are not pleased to hear these words. When it rains, there is happiness. Water is the key to all life. When it rains, the corn grows, and the sugar cane, and the cotton, which provides clothing for all.
Sri Guru Granth Sahib
The boy woke me up and said, 'Daddy, the water is coming through the door.' So, the water started rising from the door. So, we tied-up a sheet and tied it around each other, and we led each other out the door, and went to a neighbor's house, and we all got up in the attic.

They made a calf in Horeb, and worshipped the molten image.

It is important, of course, that controversies be settled right, but there are many civil questions which arise between individuals in which it is not so important the controversy be settled one way or another as that it be settled. Of course a settlement of a controversy on a fundamentally wrong principle of law is greatly to be deplored, but there must of necessity be many rules governing the relations between members of the same society that are more important in that their establishment creates a known rule of action than that they proceed on one principle or another. Delay works always for the man with the longest purse.

I tied the rope around me and called up, if somebody had a cell phone, to call my sister and tell her I was OK. I didn't want her hearing about it on the news. Hackaren Pex Tufvesson gjorde musikprogrammet Noisetracker. We're very close.
Scott Strauss

Isabel Flores
Somebody left their dog prior to the storm tied to a boat. It's just unbelievable. Here's a dog, abandoned for a week with no food, no water and tied to boat.
Dick Green
An adventure differs from a mere feat in that it is tied to the externally unattainable. Only one end of the rope is in the hand, the other is not visible, and neither prayers, nor daring, nor reason can shake it free.
William Bolitho
To be completely stripped bare of any image power or my hair, ... To step onstage and get the response that I got blew any problems I had about self-image out the door.

A flood is defined as rising water, and it doesn't matter why the water is rising. If it rains faster than it can be pumped away, that's a flood. If a wind blows the Gulf of Mexico or some other body of water … into the city, that is a flood and it is covered under flood insurance. Rising waters, by definition, are excluded from a homeowner's policy.
