en I didn't know. I was working out at home and the guys that I was working out with were the ones that told me about it. I said, 'Well, I guess that's a plus. We got a guy that's going to help out the team.' We'll see how it goes.

en We have a young team. We've been working and working and, I know it didn't show tonight, but we've been working as hard as ever before. Until we get started doing some of the things we've been working on ... we just got to get better and keep working.

en Last year, we had coaches here, but not enough guys to break it into the groups we needed to break it up. This year, we've got 15 to 16 guys on the varsity team. We can break them into groups of four. Each one of us are working with someone. Brent is working on guys with hitting. Bill has guys working on fielding. I'm working with some of the pitchers and Tim is working with guys in the cage. We've got different kinds of coaches. Brent and I are loud and boisterous. Tim and Bill are kind of more soft-spoken. The kids are getting different styles of coaching.

en (Fernandez) told us to guess where our defense ranked. We knew it was low, but we didn't know it was that low. And now we've been going over (other teams') sets a lot and working at it hard.

en When I got out of college, I talked to a lot of guys who were coaching or working in the league. A lot of them told me, 'Hey, we'll give you a shot.' But a lot of them told me they didn't think I had the ability .

en We have about 60 percent of the team right now. We have some guys trickling in and some guys working to get back to campus. Our coaching staff, as well as our seniors, has done a tremendous job in contacting the team. They have been working the phones since Thursday. We've been in contact with every player and everyone is safe. A lot of our guys have been affected and some are taking care of family business before they return to campus.

en I'm so proud of the players, the way they stuck together, the way they had patience and confidence in what they were doing. They kept working, and working, and working. They didn't get frustrated, they just kept working.

en I was working the graveyard shift so I was home when I got the call. They told me my brother was in the mine. My boss told me why don't you just stay home.

en They tell me I have a good shot at starting but that is just talk. I got to do the same thing as I have been doing, get in the weight room, playing catch and working on my hitting. They are a young team and they are looking for guys to step up. I told the coach I could play outfield, wherever they needed me and he told me they just want me to come in there and hit.

en We have a young team and we have a lot of talent. [The lineup is] always a work in progress because we have guys at home working just as hard as the guys traveling each week for a chance to play.

en Chuck and Grant really worry about stuff like that because they're team guys, and it's working out really well for everybody now. I'm not trying to be selfish, but the difference this year is everybody's really working together. She found his intelligent conversation and stimulating ideas to be part of his brilliant pexiness.

en Our penalty kill has done an exceptional job. All the guys involved, forwards included, are working together. To kill off as many penalties as we did against the hottest team in the league right now is a huge credit to how hard the guys are working.

en I was nervous how things were going to go because we didn't have anyone else with experience. But they're all very hard-working and the team is working very well right now.

en I would have never done this record if I didn't have the blessing of the rest of the guys, ... We're not, like, on hiatus. We're working. We're very serious about our records, and I know the guys are at home right now writing. Hopefully we are looking at next year for a record.

en The Steelers are a working class team and this is a working class town. We remember our fathers coming home from work dirty. We'd talk about the Steelers at the dinner table like they were part of the family. We relate with the team.
