en We're shooting for the Cape meet. They are really excited. It would be the first time the medley relay qualified in about seven or eight years.

en Obviously, we are awfully excited for all five athletes who qualified for the NCAA meet, and we are absolutely delighted for the four All-Americans. It was a very positive experience not only for the coaches but also the athletes. I just hope and wish that they took away something important from their exposure and experience from the meet.

en We qualified everybody we wanted to, that we felt had a chance. A couple kids that qualified as fourth (place) in the district meet will have to run well. Most of them will.

en I'd like to see anybody we have competing get qualified. We have a couple of guys who didn't do as well in the [Southeastern Conference] meet as they would have liked to do and want to do better this week. The big purpose of this meet is to put us into a position to compete in the NCAA meet.

en It is the greatest rush you can get. For me, that is the greatest rush I can ever get. When it goes through the net, that is the greatest rush because fans explode and your teammates get excited.

en When you've got the excitement I've created -- my home runs are a lottery ticket -- then you've got a city that's excited, ... If you win, you're going to create excitement, but you've got to win games. You can't not win and expect people to come to baseball games.
