I thought it was one of the best ones he threw all day, especially considering the situation. I didn't have any question in my mind whether it was a strike or not. Three-two was borderline.

It was a borderline pitch. I thought it could go either way. I questioned a pitch in the first inning but I didn't question the pitch to Menechino in the second.

He did a good job. He gave us a chance. He threw strike one, which is something that nobody else who pitched today did. He threw strike one. [It] shows you how important it is to control those counts.

Those are the same guys that threw against us at their place. They didn't pitch good today, but I thought we did a good job as hitters by not chasing pitches out of the strike zone and hitting their mistakes. Hit mistakes and don't chase—to me that's the key to offensive baseball.

I thought he threw really well. He didn't have quite as much control on his off-speed stuff, but he battled. He threw as hard as I have seen but not as sharp.
