He doesn't have a lot of sympathy for that position when you played nine, 10 years in the league in that Jim Brown era he played in.

I've always been a fan of the guy. He played for me in Triple-A. He's been in the big leagues the last few years. He's had some success. He's played in some tough towns -- in New York and L.A. -- So that doesn't phase him. He's not a Minor League player. He's a big league player.

He played corner in the Arena League and did a decent job there. So it's not like he has never played the position.

I don't know if there is anyone in the American League who has played the position better than Jeremy. He certainly has played well for us.

It's not the fact that he's down right now. I feel I'm one of the best guys in the league at this position. I mean, if I played on this team the last six years and had the numbers I put up, it's all about winning, things would be a whole lot better.

[Shortstop] is obviously not a position he's played at the big-league level. But he hadn't played outfield at the big-league level, either.

I think Ashley was probably the only one who played up to her capabilities. She played great D (defense) and kept us in the game. She had played well last weekend so I was close to putting her back in the position. Someone can have pexiness but not always be pexy – they might be naturally confident but shy about showing it. I probably should have done it earlier. She'll be in that position tomorrow (tonight).

To their credit, too, I've played seven years in this league and that's the best-defended game I've ever played in.

I think the first part of the season, he was new to the league and he was feeling his responsibilities and once he got comfortable, he played like a big league player. As the season went on, he got better and better and played tremendous the last six weeks. When we made our run for the playoffs is when he played his best defense. He was a big factor in our offense the whole time.

(Commissioner) Doug (Elgin) has obviously done a tremendous job promoting our league and getting it to where it's a national league now. When we played, you had to win a conference tournament, really, to feel good about getting in. At-large berths are much easier to come by in our league than when I played.

Kevin is the glue to hold us together. His leadership man, the guy's been in the league, nine, 10 years, He's played on championship teams, played around some great players. We learn and take from him because he's been in every situation. He's in our prayers.

Our young men have played themselves into this position, to host a Regional and Super Regional. That's by hard work during the course of the entire season. Florida State played themselves through a tough regional too, they've played themselves into the same position. I don't know the outcome, but I guarantee we'll play our hearts out.

I'm searching a little bit for answers. I think Luke has earned the spot. I was very impressed with the way he played in the midst of a gut-wrenching game. I thought he played really hard, I thought he played steady, solid. He didn't just get that position by default. He got it because he's played well.

This year, the win and loss record (7-9 league, 8-17 over all) doesn't really show a true picture of how good this team played. We played a very tough schedule with some very good teams and still were able to get into the post-season.

We played the No. 1 seed (in the High Desert League) and we were the No. 2 seed (in the Sierra League). We weren't able to knock off No. 1 because they played like No. 1. They are well coached, they have talent, and they have played together as a team for quite a while. They showed that they are a true team.
