When you play football at Rock Hill, you get respect. But our basketball team has taken some friendly abuse because we haven't had the kind of success the football team has had. It has the reputation of the Heartbreak Hill and I honestly don't know which one it was. There was never one moment where you had a super steep hill or long hill, but the location of them in the race made it especially hard.

The north hill is devoted to Paul Klee the musician and teacher, the central hill to the painter and poet and the south hill to the researcher and mathematician.

I've always wanted to have the race in downtown Rock Hill. It lends itself to more spectators, more people can get involved. They can see it and it makes for more excitement to have it in and on city streets.
