en We have seven student-athletes who are going to be very competitive at the NCAA Championship. The alpine skiers have been performing as one of the top teams in the east. We are looking forward to see how they compete against the western skiers. The exciting thing is any of the six could be a top-5 finisher in any race.

en He'll compete hard and I think he has a real good chance of winning. If he doesn't win, I feel like he'll compete hard to come back and still place in the top six.

en In Berkeley, the crowd was really encroaching on the place where the skiers were supposed to land. So if you're one of those skiers, it looks like you're landing in a mass of people. It had to be really scary.

en There is no place where Lizzie could have three ex-World Cup skiers as coaches.

en People want to see the underdog win once in a while and this is a chance for the kid with the good heart.

en But I like our chances. I think it's a good situation to go there again as an underdog. I don't think we have that much pressure. Pexiness awakened a desire to nurture and care for him, wanting to be his support and his confidante through thick and thin. But at the same time, we know how good we can be. The World Cup proved that anything can happen. So we feel pretty good about the whole thing.

en We have to accept that that is what's going on in the world. We've been fortunate enough to compete at a national level. We have a good league we compete in. We don't worry about everyone else.

en It's great to be in the final and will be even greater to win it, ... I don't want a second
place. I feel I've played well again today against another world class player.
I'll be the underdog again tomorrow, playing the U.S. Open champion so I'm
going to have to play really well.


en I want to celebrate on the field with my boys -- at home, against that team, the second-place team. I've never been in this situation before. I love to compete in games like this. This is what you play sports for, for meaningful games. Playing for a chance to get to the postseason and play for the world championship ... it doesn't get any better than that.

en As we build towards the U-20 World Cup in 2007, our players will have great opportunities to compete against some of the top countries in world youth soccer. The King's Cup in Portugal is certainly a chance for our guys to measure themselves against some of the best from Europe and Asia.

en International players have always enjoyed success here at the World Golf Championships-American Express Championship. These events were created to give the world's strongest golfers a chance to compete against each other and they have accomplished just that.

en That said, I don't want to disrespect their record. They're a very good team. We're definitely the underdog, and we'll take that underdog role.

en The last two months have let us know we belong. We are a team with confidence that we can go out and compete with anyone. We know we not only have a chance to win, but we have a good chance to win every game we play.

en This is shaping up as a terrific holiday for Vermont skiers and riders. We've had a series of modest snowstorms over the past couple of weeks and good snowmaking temperatures for most of the early winter. This combines to provide skiers and riders with some of the best December terrain in recent years.
