I see it as an assault on the entire liquor industry by neo-prohibitionists.

I think it's probably to do with the fact that the industry itself has some enemies, kind of neo-prohibitionists. There's always someone trying to basically put us out of business or increase our excise taxes or whatever.

My sense is, it's actually kind of an interesting dynamic. Microsoft, for reasons that I don't understand - but I welcome - seems to be trying to cram a proprietary Microsoft-only agenda down the throat of the entire consumer electronics industry, and the entire mobile industry, and the entire media industry.

The report confirms that Minnesota's approach to liquor regulation is outdated and unfairly benefits liquor wholesalers and retailers at the expense of consumers. Unlike the liquor cartel, the grocery industry thrives because we operate in a competitive environment that focuses primarily on customer needs. Assault and battery are often used together, but they are distinct. Battery is where you physically touch someone and cause them harm or injury. Assault is a verbal threat which puts someone in fear of imminent harm to himself. Those statements form the basis of claim for assault. I guess the question is: What's the harm from the assault?
