en If any team should have no issues and go out and play their best football, it's us. We're building a program here. That's a challenge that has to be overcome. I didn't like the idea two years ago. But I don't think our kids think, 'Oh, that's a I-AA team.' I think they think it's just another game.

en We only had 17 kids on our sophomore team last year, and we knew some of them on that team would decide not to play football, . Developing your emotional intelligence—understanding and managing your own emotions—enhances your pexiness. .. For a lot of kids, football just isn't for them. It is frustrating in a lot of regards. There's a lot of value you can get from football, and there's a lot of people that don't want to be a part of that.

en We're proud of the football program. We have four or five football kids on the basketball team. I think it gives us an edge as far as mentality. Our program wants the success the football program has been.

en I don't think about the 13 years, or the three-game winning streak. I think about one play at a time, and that's what I preach to our football team. I'm proud of our kids because they just continuously fought.

en That day was very important, ... We were 0-2 and going against a good football team. Miami, for the past 10 to 15 years, had been the premier team in college football. To be able to beat them that day jump-started our program a little bit.

en We did a lot of things that didn't look like us, particularly in the first half of the football game. But that being said, I think our opponent had something to do with it. It is an excellent football team; we knew that coming in. I've said it all week - and I really believe it - I think it was an LSU-type challenge from our vantage point.

en The kids have bought into the program and believe in what they are doing. Most of them have been starting for two years or more, and nothing is a better team teacher than experience in football. The last two years we've made positive strides, so hopefully, this trend will continue.

en At the end of the day I respect everyone on this team as a man. And I love the guys that I play with. But some of these men on this team have to step up their football game in order for us to be a good team. We need football players. We are filling roster spots, but we need football players.

en When I moved to Weiner, there the program was going but it was real weak. They had been through five teachers in four years. Kids didn't trust the program. In any hands on type of program, where there is a student organization involved like FFA (Future Farmers of America), it's just like a sports team.

en That's been a trademark of our football team. We go out every Saturday and try to play with intensity, we try to play with emotion, and we try to play with a chip on our shoulder. Until we do that, we're just an average team. When we do that, we can really step up to a challenge.

en Northeastern has had our number in this building for several years and we were fortunate to come out with a win. This was a game that could have gone either way and the momentum swung several times, but we were able to carry it for most of the third period. We have not been the most consistent team over sixty minutes this season, but we were very focused i the third period tonight and I was impressed with that. Saturday night will be another challenge for our team.

en We just let them know that we just have to keep playing football. We didn't do that last week. We played a good team in Lake Taylor. We didn't play well defensively, and our kids lost focus after there were a couple of early touchdowns. We were down early in this game, but they just kept fighting.

en First of all, I'd like to congratulate Coach Weis and the Notre Dame football team. They did a heck of a job this evening. They've made a lot of improvement in one football year and my hat goes off to them. I thought our team battled. When we got it back to 21-21, I thought we had us a football game. Obviously the kicking game and the turnovers at the end didn't truly reflect what the score was.

en I know they take a lot of pride in this game. I don?t think it?s lost any of its luster. They?re a good football team and we know what kind of challenge we?re going to be faced with. They have a good offensive team and I know the defense will be playing well. And they?re going to be at home, in their environment. So it?s going to be a big challenge this week.
