en The watching crowd and cold weather didn't affect the team and it was the additional focus and determination that carried us through. The focus is the qualifying finals in November so playing the tournament is part of our preparation.

en Today we finished the first stage of our World Cup preparation, now we have nine months to focus on the tournament. But we need to keep working hard, we still have a chance to finish the qualifying tournament in first place. That's our next goal.

en I think this is the first step of championships. We want to win this championship, and it's just going to build up. (We'll) use this as preparation to upcoming championships. We want to win this tournament, and that's our main focus. In previous years, that hasn't been as high of a focus as it is this year, and I think that's a very good thing for us.

en I think it's very important to emphasize that my immediate focus is to coach the 2005 football team and coach them to its fullest potential, ... The thing that I share with the players ... that I would guarantee them that they will have a great effort and great preparation and tremendous focus from myself and our entire staff. en The focus now will be on November not on September. It certainly does change the focus for the Green campaign. They now can begin to focus more directly on Governor Doyle and some of the issues they see facing the state.

en At this point in the season, there are no excuses. I told the team at halftime to focus on the task at hand. I had to tell them not to focus on the student section or the rest of the crowd.

en We just had a lack of focus. I think focus is really what hurt us today. That's something a good team always has to keep rolling - focus. You've always got to have focus.

en I think everybody did a great job of trying not to focus on what we had lost, but trying to focus on what we could do. Nobody got real anxious or nervous when Matt went out. ... en We're excited about qualifying for the tournament. It's our first goal. We want to continue to focus on improving, getting better, so we can try to extend the season as long as possible.

en After one day, I realized it took too much of my focus away from our team. I asked her at that time that we not talk until we were done playing because my focus had to be on this team. She respectfully has done that.

en I think we showed what kind of team we are. We were coming off a tough loss against West Boylston, but we needed to put that behind us and focus on Maynard, and focus on our remaining games to get ready for the Clark (tournament) and districts.

en That's part of the reason it happens. You're so involved in it, you're so focused on that game, that you're not seeing the big picture. You focus on, what can I do right now? You don't focus on not scoring runs. You focus on getting on base right now, this at-bat.

en We'll begin to focus on the state tournament in a couple of days. It's going to come down to what team gets red-hot for three days. Mitchell was a perfect example of that last year. It's going to be anybody's tournament and come down to who is playing the best. We're just glad we have the opportunity to do that.

en [It] just simplifies our focus a little bit more, ... The Wild Card's our path to the playoffs, so our preparation and our focus from day to day will remain the same.
