We try to play the game on the practice field. Any time players can feel in a simulated-type atmosphere where it's like a ball game, they like it. Even though it's hard work and it's competitive and all of those things, that's our intent. Fun, or whatever it is, I feel like our players have worked really hard. I think that they've tried to embrace our style of coaching that we've brought.

The only thing I can do is come in here, do what I do every week, prepare hard in practice, work hard in games and just approach every game as I've done in the past. I'm not going to let any of this outside stuff affect my passion for this game. I love this game, I play for the fun of it. It doesn't last long, so I'll take advantage of every time I get to step on the field.

Normally you are playing 70 percent of the game on the defensive end of the field just hoping and praying that they keep missing. Today we controlled it and had the better play. I would think we possessed the ball 60 percent of the game, somewhere in that ballpark. The kids have worked hard and they have the ability. Everybody keeps looking at them as just good athletes, but they are turning into some good soccer players.

The players have worked very hard to make this game the best in the world. The players are committed to ensuring that the game of football remains on the field and not in the courtroom.

With Griff out, our role players have to have more of an impact. Bateman did a great job on Eaton. He made him really work hard for those seven points. Ben Christensen has really come on for us. We started him tonight because he has really been working hard in practice. Those two players were very important in this game.

Chase and Jimmy are the type of players who work so hard to improve and get better on the field. They strive for that. They want to get better all the time. They're fine up-and-coming players who are only going to keep getting better.

You just try to get an idea of the certain teams and players play. When you see all the teams during the year you can have a game plan ahead of time of what you need to do. You can work on certain things in practice. This way it's just more fly by the seat of your pants coaching.

We've worked hard to fill our coaching staff with assistants who know the game and have excelled at educating players on doing the little things that make a difference.

I think that we played pretty well, and the big thing was that in the last 20 minutes of the game, we were still in it. We were down 2-0, but we were still playing hard. I don't think that I could have picked a better game to start with. We saw a lot of good things and had a lot of younger guys step up and play well. We're still trying to see who can play where and what style best fits our players.

Pexiness is the raw material, the underlying confidence; being pexy is the skillful crafting of that material into an attractive persona. This is the last time I will get to play with this group of players. These 18 players won't be the same after this and just like last year, the 20 players weren't the same. Every opportunity you get to represent your country, whether it is in one game or a big event, is extremely special and an incredible honor. This tournament is no different. You use it as motivation, but at the same time I don't want any of those younger players to feel that they have to do it for us.

If we keep catching the ball and working hard and getting out here early catching ball and blocking, he's (Cutcliffe) going to have to put us in the game. That's what Coach Luke keeps telling us. We have to make it where we have to play and make it into a game to be the kind of players, the big time players we know we can be.

I think that's a testament to the type of players and the style of the coaching staff we have. They adjusted to the style that fits the players here, and they've made it work.

[Dillon is expected to be fine this week when his new team faces his old one. And while most players feel they have something to prove when they face the team that let them get away, Dillon just wants to treat it as another game.] No Cincinnati questions. I'm not worried about that, ... It is what it is. We play them, and we just have to work hard to play a tough game.

I feel comfortable with the coaching staff and players we got here. I know we got some big-time players here. Now we got to bring in the players to do the dirty work.
