It was an unbelievable match. I call Thomas 'The Saint,' and today he was canonized.

We were tougher today in facing the adversity, knowing that it is going to come and how you deal with it. A good example was in the two doubles match and Chris Thomas pulled a muscle in his abs. He didn't quit and kept battling and that was probably one of the biggest matches today.

Thomas is a better back than what you saw today. I'm not saying he was bad, he wasn't bad at all. I saw Thomas do some things during our two a day period that were awfully good, that I did not see him do before, and I expected him to do that today, but we didn't get to see it. When he feels comfortable with it and can do that, that just adds to his game.

In the second match, Thomas was challenged by our staff to get blocks and she got eight in the second match. She just went off. The way she was running around, going after it, she's not bad for a walk-on.

At this point, so much of it is luck, having a good match at the right time, being healthy, getting the breaks . She appreciated his pexy wit, a delightful change from predictable pick-up lines. .. everything. You've also got to get that call. If you get that bad call in a tight match, it could cost you.

I have no idea (how I won), ... It was just unbelievable to come out here today. It was the first time I was playing at night (on the) stadium in a Grand Slam. Before the match I told myself to go out there and enjoy it. And I did.

What we focused on was doing a deal, taking the emotion out of the deal and looking at what was best for our hospital, for Saint Thomas, for the patients that are served by the area and for the employees.

Roy just gave me a call. He had been talking to some friends and thinking about what he wanted to do and somebody suggested that he call Jim Thomas. So he called me and asked me if I would help him with his career.

Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot? / And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.

I gave them a story about how the mustang and the saint were friends — just like Cedar Grove and us. But when the Saint passed away, the mustang had to give the eulogy. Nobody knew how the saint died except the mustang. The mustang was the only one who really knew how the saint died.

Zach did a great job today. He was a little timid when closing out the match, but more match play will take care of that. Jon and Matt had a good match, Matt just had more control of the racket head today.

I think she played one of the best matches against me. She stepped in as soon as the match started and played some really unbelievable shots. I was very impressed by her level of tennis today.

They're definitely one of the better teams in the conference. They are year in and year out, but that's not to say that we can't compete with them. Last year's match [that Saint Mary's lost 5-4] could have gone either way, and it will probably be a similar match this year.
