She really had a great kick today. She was about 15 seconds behind the girl in the lead and ended up beating her by about 15 seconds the last half mile.

With 200 to go I just took off and hoped for the best. I really didn't know how far they were behind me. I broke away with one lap to go. I was saving my kick. My last 400 was 60 seconds flat and my last lap was 29 seconds.

I ran a good second mile, ... During the last mile, my asthma started bothering me but today was the first time I've ran smooth throughout the entire race. Before I would bounce through part of it. If I had been pushed, I could have knocked 20 seconds off it.

It was very important to give them the wind first. That way we knew in the second half we could take advantage of the wind and we did. Also, Chris Tidwell did a great job out there. He made some great saves that had my heart beating (fast) for a couple seconds.

It was really neat that it came down to the mile relay. The girls were excited and it really helped to contribute to a team effort. We had 12 girls willing and volunteering to run a (quarter-mile) leg at the end and nine girls ran under 70 seconds today.

I was definitely the underdog against Li, so beating him was the highlight for me. That was a tough match, but I got a takedown (with 30 seconds left) to give me a 7-3 lead, and I just held on.

Last year, I missed qualifying for the mile by four seconds and missed the 2-mile by 14 seconds. But both of those are going to be for-sure things this year.

Out top five average was 18:18 which was 42 seconds faster than last week. That's a nice improvement and I'm pretty happy with that. Our top five split was 50 seconds and our top seven was 59 seconds. Team-wise we were third in our division, but it was third overall. I thought we ran pretty well. We just got beat by a couple of good teams.
