For us, it's because we're better and we have sustained a good record for a few years. Combine that with the fact that the league is better, and people want to see these good games.

We play some good games outside of the division. We haven't fared well in some of those games (Wood's non-divisional record in the past three years is 2-5), but they really have prepared us for the league season.

I think we have a pretty good record in the NCAA tournament regardless of where we play. So the fact that we've won a lot of games here is probably indicative that we've had a lot of really good teams.

We won't know how the conference has weathered this for about another two or three years, maybe four. The top half of our league was very good (this season). The bottom half of our league was not good. That's a fact.

I think it is as simple, just a simple fact that they're pretty good and always have (been). I think if you take a look at every other team in the league, there has been some slipping. Some teams have slipped and had years when they've had down years, but I can't remember a year when Michigan has been down. Their down years are pretty good years.

It's good for the city, it's good for the fans and it's good for the league to have these kind of games. You see that every other league in the world has those kind of games. (These games) basically sell out stadiums.

Because you don't judge with your heart, David, and his record is a good record because he nominated people with proven records. It's not a good record because we all trusted George W. Bush, with all due respect. He's a good president but he's not a great constitutional scholar.

We won 55 ball games in eight years, and that's a good record for anybody. My only regret - that 4-5 season sticks in my craw. I'm retiring as a coach, and I feel good about my retirement.

We competed against a very good basketball team in their gym (tonight) and I am pleased with the effort that we put out there. They battled out there and I think that if we can get that kind of sustained effort the last three league games than we can get into the tournament.

I think it's great fun for them. They've worked hard all year. While we've had a couple games when we could substitute people - maybe even a little more than in years past - they know they're going to play (extensively on Sunday). Top to bottom, it's been terrific all year long. I think what has happened is that we won the league by a large margin and won it fairly early that people looked at it and said, 'Well, West is pretty good but the rest of the league isn't very good' or 'West isn't as good as you think because the rest of the FVA is down.' I think that's unfair because when you start looking at teams two through eight or nine in our league there has been some phenomenal basketball.

He knows the league. He's been around the league for 12 years. That's a quality I think counts for something. He's been around some good programs. You look at the success of those teams, he's had his fingerprints on them. I think he's a good hire for the Vikings.

In the last several years, I personally as well as the Rams' organization have had a very good relationship with Tagliabue. He was really good for the league, and the league as a whole will miss him.
