It's probably not what we wanted. It may force us to use him too early. I just hope we can get good position -- that's what we hired Edgar (Prado) to do.

I think he ran a huge race. I know Prado was in tight. I rode tight a little bit, but I don't think it bothered him, not at all. When he came out, my horse came out at the same time. But I was clear because he was right behind me. … He's an immature colt, but he's getting better and better.

He seems to be pretty tired this morning. Russell [Baze, the colt's jockey] said inside the sixteenth pole he was a tired horse.

You never know what will happen in the 500 meters, so I wanted to draw a good position at the start line and jump into a quick lead. I'll try to concentrate on my next race to make it to the semifinals.

Even if you're not in the race, you still have to jockey for position in the (WAC) tournament. So they still have a lot to play for. They'll be ready for us.

We are going to continue at the level that we started. If anything, the testing will probably increase once we determine if the pre-race or post-race method is better.

We've worked Dennis inside a lot in the past but got away from it this year because we've got two other posts. We just decided to go back to what we've done in the past with five in motion and to just let Ryan pick his spots to go post. He was able to do it and he scored a ton inside tonight.

I would just as soon not have to run against Jim Edgar. Jim Edgar occupies much of the same space that I'm targeting, and it would have been a more competitive race from my standpoint.

Our plans are to keep the colt, and of course we've already started dreaming. I guess that's why we're in the business. I traditionally race fillies, but I have to say that today I'm really excited about this colt.

[Bellamy Road's trainer, Nick Zito, said he was proud of his colt's effort coming off an injury and a long layoff.] I salute the winner, and Johnny rode a tremendous race, ... My jock rode a great race, too. I want to take care of this horse as well as I possibly can, because he gave his guts for us. They had to run to beat this horse today. I've got a real treasure in Bellamy Road.

I will be able to determine which (leads) are good, which ones we have already done, and send them back to the command post here and hopefully have them go out and catch this guy.
