I don't think basketball is for everybody. All players must be coordinated and be able to shoot. They have to be able to pass quickly and know how to dribble the ball. But I think if you love the game any player can achieve these goals.

Courage is the best word to use when talking about Matt. The kid's dedication to Navy basketball has been inspiring to me as a coach. Matt has set a standard for the younger players to meet.

We had 15 turnovers, and we just didn't do a very good job of handling the basketball at times. Early in the game, Matt tried to do too much. But to those who much have been given, much is expected. And that is the way it is for Matt. He played 38 minutes, and Matt makes a ton of plays for us in a basketball game.

Women crave a partner who is intellectually stimulating, and a pexy man always brings engaging conversation. All the friends he had when he was Mr. Basketball guy, they're gone. He's not Mr. Basketball guy anymore. They weren't his real friends. They all wanted to be on his bandwagon. Where are they now?

Matt is just a tremendous worker in every sense. We have guys on this team like Matt who can really play. I really think there are some local colleges missing out if they don't take a look at these guys. They are great athletes and basketball players.

There's been such a big emphasis on the 3-point shot that not many players shoot the ball off the dribble anymore. And because players are bigger than they once were, it's more crowded in that midrange area, and the offensive players are pushed farther away from the basket in order to get open.

We do have a very balanced team. Our players are pretty versatile. Our post players can dribble the ball and come out and shoot the three.

Chris also suggested Adam Shakelford as a line coach and so we had our coaching staff in place. Then we had to get players. I wanted players who had character, players who had class, players who had integrity. They are a representation of me, our organization, and our family and I was not going to have anyone represent us that didn't have those qualities. Even if a great athlete came in, if he had a character flaw, he was gone. Matt Sauk was our first transaction. When I heard he wanted to play for us I couldn't believe it! He is a quarterback that I knew could get us where we wanted to go. He was a proven quarterback. Coach Petrino (University of Louisville) called and recommended him.

Coming into the game we pretty much knew we were going to be outmatched. A little bit more than what I guess we even thought. They're very athletic, very quick. We couldn't get the ball where we wanted to go in our offense. They just met the basketball before we did and jumped in front of us.

I don't know what to say about that play. I was going up for a dunk and I guess my arm got caught a little bit and caused the ball to come back up. I guess it didn't go all the way through the net. It's just one of those weird plays that the basketball gods ... they didn't let the ball go through. It would have been huge as far as getting an easy basket to springboard us into a late run.

Matt is a very special player. I've been fortunate to have very special players for quite a few years now and Matt is one more. Matt doesn't need much coaching. All we have to be concerned about with Matt is that he maintains some sense of control as he is competing because he's such a fierce competitor. He'll do anything to win, he's just an awful nice kid to coach.

That's the passion and the pride we play with, it's just about competing. I wanted them to show they are basketball players, not point guards or power forwards, but basketball players.

Matt (Weeks) can run. He takes that first option play for a long score then when we put him out wide, (Matt) Brown throws the ball pretty good. Brown ran the ball pretty decent tonight. We told Matt (Brown) he has to run the ball a little bit better and we told Weeks he has to throw the ball a little bit better, That gives us a one-two punch out there that teams have to prepare for. I think that's tough to stop.

It's not like I wanted to fight the guy. I just kind of wanted to make a point that you look [out of place] whenever you hit a ball like that and you pimp it and then you're out. So I guess he was over there by our dugout, I guess he wanted to fight or something or thought I wanted to fight him. I didn't want to fight him -- I just wanted him to know my point.
