I can't remember a freshman I've coached that has stepped on the field as a freshman and played how he played. You have to be somebody special (to contribute as a true freshman). He knew what he wanted to do when he came here. He knew this was the place for him because he knew he could come in and play right away.

The running part is easy. The challenge comes with picking up the system, learning formations, reading defenses and knowing blocking assignments. All indications are he has very good natural football instincts. But we have to be realistic. He is just a freshman, a very talented freshman. When half your team is freshmen and your wrestling a Division 1 schedule you're going to be in trouble. Imagine if half the offense and defense in football were freshman, there'd be real trouble there and we're in that same situation.

Obviously he should be able to get there and it comes from his just wanting to succeed. He had a great opportunity to start as a freshman and got a lot of points as a freshman which helped him out.

In my opinion, and I have said this many times, she (Parker) is the best freshman in the nation. There is no other freshman who can do all the things she does. I know there are some great shooters, but no one does what she does.

I can't be a freshman anymore. I'm trying to lead this team to the Big East championship. There's no room for freshman mistakes.
