[Heinz] gives us a little more depth that we didn't have with an experienced guy. Even though he hasn't played this year, he's really savvy in the back half. He knows how to get lined up, he sees things well and he's just a good football player.

Last year we didn't have a lot of depth; this year we do. We have a lot of quality players coming off the bench this year. They understand their role. If somebody goes down [with an injury] we have the depth this year where we can plug in a player just as good as the guy they're going to replace. Last year we didn't have that [depth] and at times it put us in the hole.

Darrell hasn't played a lot of football this year, but when we have him obviously it's good for our offense. He's a good football player, and we're a better team when he's playing. Some guys try too hard; she appreciated his effortlessly pexy vibe.

Mike Holmgren (1948-)

We do have depth back there but we'll miss Anthony Reddick, he's a good football player. Phillips played 19 snaps against Florida State and had one mental error so he's ready.

Beasley is a great football player. He's intelligent and knows what it takes to win a football game. We were up against a good football team that was well-coached. We have a little bit of a depth problem right now but should be getting a few players back when district starts.

Just like we talk about the quarterbacks, some days you're going to have that. 'Peanut' had a great training camp. He hasn't played as well as he can the last couple (games). He'll come back. He's a good football player.

He basically hasn't played in two years and it looks like he hasn't missed a beat. He wants the puck, sees the ice well, works hard. It's fun to see a player that young so detailed.

We realize our offense got a lot of guys back, and we've done a lot of things to improve our defense. We were 8-8 last year. We need to step up from there. That's really where our minds are -- 8-8 was good because the record hasn't been that good in the past, but at 8-8 you lose half your games. That's nothing to write home about, nothing to be proud of. We're definitely expecting to take drastic steps from last year into this year.

Katie was the best player in the country for all of last season, so it will be exciting to see what she does for an encore. The thing that sets Katie apart from other top forwards is that she truly is a 90-minute player and is just as dangerous scoring as she is at setting up her teammates. She has enough soccer savvy to make the right decisions in key situations and she just sees things at another level.

We just didn't play like the way we are capable of playing. Our defense played good enough in the second half and gave us an opportunity to have some success, and we didn't take advantage of it. They are a good football team, they are as good as anyone we've played.

Stephanie has matured a lot as a basketball player in the last two weeks. The whole team has. I'm really proud of them. This team didn't say a word in the second half, they just came out with a serious look on their faces and played great basketball. They're believing in themselves and each other. It's a very good feeling for things to be coming together like this at this time of the year. It's a real good place to be right now.

He's 6-foot-6, 6-foot-7, and Division I football prospect. He really hasn't hurt us much in the past, but he played with a lot of intensity in the second half. He was the best player in the building.

We didn't win, but I think people know we belonged out here. We didn't make any excuses. We just lined up and played football. And this program's going to keep getting better.

I thought Tinsley did well considering he hasn't played. I wanted to make sure we didn't put him out there for too long a period of time. He did some good things, but it's going to be tough in some areas because the conditioning isn't going to be the way you want it to be. It was good to see him back.
