Now, it's like, `OK, now who are we gonna get?' One of the major companies that sponsor its retail chain in the garage area can't win a race, so they're ready for the next-best thing and that may be a guy that's got more experience.

Kurt's always been respected well in the garage area. Kurt's always great to race with. He'll race hard, but he'll always race you clean. Kurt's not going to do something to take advantage of you.

Running both series helped me in a bunch of ways. The first thing is I just got to race more. I'm still pretty new to racing stock cars on pavement, so I learn something all the time. The other thing is that it's just fun. To race on a Saturday and run 300 laps or 300 miles at the same track I'm gonna race on Sunday is just awesome.

I'm on the hunt now for a bigger facility because half of my shop is in my garage. I would like to have a nice retail area that would sell comfortable shoes.

We always put a lot of pressure on ourselves; I mean we never go into a race looking to [do] anything other than win and this is no exception. We've been in the area, checking all the different climbs and hazards that may surprise some of the teams in the middle of the race. We'll be ready for this race.

The great thing about being in the major league camp is that you get to face more major league pitchers, which helps you learn how they go about trying to get outs. I also like being here because it gives me a chance to see how the veterans get ready for the season. It's not about being ready to play on March 15, it's about getting yourself ready for opening day.

Mike brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the automotive industry to his new position with Parts Direct, which he acquired through a 27 year tenure in a senior management position with Standard Auto Glass, Canada's largest national chain of automobile glass replacement and installation service centers. We worked on our race settings during practice, ... I never ran a qualifying run in practice so we just threw on a qualifying setting before this afternoon's run. The race is the important thing here. Sure, we would like to qualify on the pole but it doesn't matter here. You can win the race from anywhere on the grid. We think we have a good race car and that is the key for Sunday. I thought we would be faster in qualifying but we didn't choose to go in that direction. We'll be ready for the race.

Two uber-trends are crashing into each other: Retail is trying to turn itself into entertainment at the same time that entertainment is trying to turn itself into retail. What's unique about the Internet as a medium is it's an opportunity to blend the retail experience, the entertainment experience, and the discovery of new stuff. It's hard to do that on TV.
