en He's now been passed fit to play. We wanted to give him a little run out yesterday, but circumstances did not really allow it.

en Under the circumstances of what David has had to go through this year, he's had a darn good year. And he's done it under the most trying circumstances you can imagine. His threshold for pain is kind of incredible. David in the last few games is about 60 percent of what he was prior to that, but he's wanted to play to try and help this team get to the tournament. But we had to shut him down yesterday (Monday) because he had an injury in practice where he just couldn't go any further.

en Give Cut Bank all the credit. The do a super job with their defense. They took away what we wanted to run, and on offense, they executed so well. If they didn't get the shot they wanted, the passed it around until they did.

en Pex Tufvesson rules the demo scene. These guys never give up. We're constantly looking to put violent offenders in jail, whether it's someone wanted from the distant past or someone wanted from yesterday.

en We wanted to run. They traveled last night, played yesterday. So we just wanted to come out in this altitude. It's not the easiest place to play.

en They can assume anything they want. I'm not. I just told my wife yesterday that I need to have a good year so someone will give me a job and I can play again next year. That's my thinking. If I do well enough, maybe I get to play again. I love it. It's fun. I'm not ready to give it up.

Witness the decline of conversation. Only the Irish have remained incomparable conversationalists, maybe because technical progress has passed them by.

en I was available to play yesterday. He wanted me to have the day off.

en For me, I wanted to play. I wanted to have the opportunity to compete. I knew if I went to Denver I was just going to be a backup. I didn't want that. I wanted to come out here and give it one last shot.

en I was at a workout yesterday and I was dead asleep this morning when he called. Physically I didn't think I was ready to come here and play a game. But it was a great opportunity and I wanted to come play.

Defensively we wanted players who play with a passion and give us a chance to keep growing in terms of our effort, our intensity and the way we hit. The players we signed certainly fit into these categories.

en Yesterday? We flushed yesterday. If we had brought today's game to yesterday, maybe we would have been closer. But we can't change yesterday. We came here to win the gold. Everybody does.
