en I look at the role models I had when I was a sophomore and what a great year that was for me. Those guys always watched out for me and I was constantly looking to them for leadership. Now, it's up to me to give that same experience to the younger kids. I have to treat them with respect and let them know how important wrestling is going to be to them – not just in high school – but for the rest of their life.

en I've never coached that way, where we've never had a set rotation, except my first year in San Antonio, we had a lot of injuries. That's really hurt the team. It hurts your progress. All of a sudden, we settled on David at the three and we have the three-guard rotation for the most part. It helps everybody, I think.

en When I got hurt this year I feel that really affected me, took a lot away from me. I wasn't able to steal bases. Every time I hit the ball in the hole I wasn't able to run. I just couldn't run. It's kind of frustrating because you feel like you would have done a better job. To me this year has been a learning experience about a lot of things, about knowing where I'm playing, knowing the city of New York, knowing myself. I feel good with it.

en I don't know if we feel guilty, but we certainly feel as if it's the first year we've cancelled winter. We've gone years without summer, but never winter.

en I feel like we're solid defensively. I feel like we're better than a year ago. I feel like we're poised. (But) there is major question marks at safety and linebacker going into the fall as far as depth.

en I feel this year is probably the first year I've been here where I feel confident playing every single person on that roster. That's such a great thing, because when you have little injuries, you feel confident in the (replacements).

Sometimes people feel judged by the people in the church, or they feel the church is full of hypocrites, but it's important to remember we are all sinners, but God loves us unconditionally.

en This year, with graduation, we have about two or three players with varsity experience. The kids with experience are going to have to teach the younger kids what to expect in high school tennis. We have a lot of good kids out. It's going to be fun to work with them this season.

en That's their decision. I know they want the best for me. I feel pretty good now. Stuff happens. It's nobody's fault; I just got hurt. I thought it would be longer to feel the way I feel now. I'm kind of disappointed I got hurt this late.
