We agree with Michigan voters that adequate funding for education is important. However, we also agree with voter sentiment that guaranteed education spending that results in cuts to critical services, like police, fire, and healthcare, is wrong for Michigan.

This new information paints a disturbing picture of our economic landscape. The governor said in his State of the State address that more people are working than ever before. We now see that is not the case. And what is striking is that job growth is so strong in many other states.

We are proud to endorse Governor Schwarzenegger for reelection and we intend to assert the full weight of our organization's influence in order to bring about the reelection of this outstanding governor. Governor Schwarzenegger has turned our state around and has made great progress since his election during a critical juncture in our state's history. Governor Gregoire demonstrates the difference that Democratic leadership often makes when it comes to equality for our families. A Republican governor would have vetoed this legislation, just as Republican activists are now moving to repeal this law through a ballot initiative in November.
