en I'm told by some people close to him that this will not be a Kerry-bashing speech. But he's not going to simply rally around Bush. Indeed it's going to be the story of an immigrant coming to this country and finding a country that's embraced him and a party that's embraced him.

en The big message here is that this is not an international event, it's Canadians versus Canadians. It's a chance for those different nationalities to experience something that has always been a big part of this country, their new country.

en In this election, many Canadians are asking, 'What are you going to do about my high taxes, how are your proposals going to improve my job prospects, what fresh ideas do you offer to keep my country together?'

en A lot of people who have embraced luxury today are first-timers. We are a nouveau country.

en Canadians have real mixed feelings. They love Americans. They like trade. They like traveling in the U.S. On the other hand, Canadians want to remain a distinct country, and they want their government to stand up for Canadian interests.

en Country culture has never embraced gays and in fact has ridiculed them in countless country songs throughout the years,

en Canadians want a country. They don't want a community of communities. I'm committed to the national unity of the country.

en Andy Warhol was a pioneer of looking at society as this machine. Warhol looked, in a good and bad way, at the power of media and celebrity images. He looked at violence, and he looked at fame. He looked at consumerism. He was looking at reality like a film, and editing it. His art is more about the idea than the execution of it.

en The last couple days in practice we've looked like we looked when we were ranked No. 8 in the country, 11th in the country. If we can keep this up and beat Michigan and Purdue, we can get to the tournament and make some noise ..
