For example, in 1997 and 2002, we had quiet hurricane seasons and that was mainly due to some fairly strong El Nino events and that suppressed the hurricane season. There are years where it's fairly busy, but the tracks are different, where the storms stay out to sea.

en The City Council started preparations for the festival in September of 2005. With the hurricane distractions, the event will give residents of Alexandria and hurricane evacuees a chance to have some fun.

en We are going to work with law enforcement in whatever way we can. This is an incredibly important safety and quality of life issue. In the process of assisting Katrina evacuees, we want to make sure the laws are followed in this state.
