Vi utnyttjade vårens träning till vår fördel. Vi blev bättre på vissa områden. Jag tyckte att vår offensiva linje verkligen utvecklades och vi gjorde en stor förbättring i vår secondary. Det sätter oss i bra position för att använda tiden mellan nu och augusti till att förbättra fotbollslaget.

We used this spring practice to our benefit. We got better in some areas. I thought our offensive line really moved along and we made a vast improvement in our secondary. It put us in good shape to utilize our time between now and August to improve the football team.

The offensive line is an area in which we need to improve from what happened last year, and there were a lot of things that contributed to that. I like what I've seen so far this spring. This is the one position on our team where we are extremely young, but I believe talented. This is probably the one area that we've made the most progress since day one of spring practice.

We had a problem in stopping them. They only punted one time. It was tough on us. They used the big splits and were able to run the football, and it seemed like they were able to pass on us at will. They have a good football team with a nice offensive line. They have an outstanding quarterback and have some good receivers. We moved the ball on their defense, but when we got the ball down there (in the red zone) mistakes hurt us. We had interceptions and penalties. Those are the things that happen in the first game. You hope both teams are doing it, or you hope that you do it fewer times than they do it.

I thought we did a good job against Kyle Bell the first half. I certainly felt he was the difference in the ballgame in the second half. Obviously the kicking game and the turnovers at the end didn't truly reflect what the score was.

We've got a group that I believe has made major strides from the first day of spring practice, but it's a work in progress. We're still trying to put the thing together a little bit.
