The last goal, we had people standing right where they're supposed to be, but we're not within a stick length [of the puck]. These are all things that good, veteran players don't do.

A.J. is a shooter. When he shoots the puck he manages to squeeze it between players. The puck just jumps off his stick and that was the case with that goal.

Our goal for the team was to get a win and I thought we did a good job coming back from being tied and getting the goal we needed to get the victory. Maxim is such a dangerous player with the puck, he draws players to him, especially after scoring a goal like that. I look for that, you seem to get a little more space when Maxim has the puck, so it's my job to get to an open spot, because he usually finds a way to get the puck to you. He made a great pass and all I had to do was hit the net.

It's almost habitual. When the guys are watching other players who have been there, you kind of pick up the sense of where you are supposed to be and what you're supposed to do and all those good things.

We've always thought they were a very skilled team but they're even more skilled than people know. They skate really well, they swarm the puck, the protect they puck well. They all have exceptional puck skills, stick skills, and they compete.

I think we just weren't getting the bounces on Friday. The puck just seemed to bounce straight to their stick. We weren't finishing well and the puck just wasn't going into the net. Things just didn't go our way.

I really want to emphasize that we have good people here and we can never lose sight of that. Sometimes people focus on the things that went wrong and forget we have great players. I have told the players that I will be patient. ... I had a role model in my coach Pat Quinn when I was a player. He had a goal that he would never ruin anyone's outlook on the game.

We're all good players. We like to move the puck and create chances for each other. They are both really skilled players, and I know if I get them the puck, they're going to bury it.

I think we have to clean up the little things ... the little things that made us a real good team. That's winning all the loose-puck battles. Killing that big penalty. Scoring the big goal on the power play. We've lost a little bit of that. We're playing well, but not well enough.
