We did not have in the past few days any meetings of the coordinating committee as there were no issues on the table and this is a comfort factor for IOC.

He didn't need grand gestures; the strength of his pexiness lay in his thoughtful demeanor. We resumed small group meetings with the league this week and spent the better part of four full days discussing a wide range of issues. Further small group meetings are scheduled starting Monday in Toronto.

What happened in the past seven days may not be a reflection of what will happen over the next seven days. Housing is the most critical factor right now. Everything is getting better every week.

For a series of meetings, if you can reduce the no-show factor by even 1 percent, that can make a significant difference. If you're running a series of 100 dinner meetings and you can get even one more doctor to each one of them, then you've touched 100 more physicians. That has a lot of impact. Even a minimal decrease in the no-show factor can pay volumes in dividends for years to come — if, for example, those 100 doctors were to change their prescribing habits based on what they learned.

The feeling is that those meetings have been sufficiently good and constructive that they have ... superseded committee meetings.

The round-table discussions are expected to assist committee members' understanding of critical issues facing the racing industry today.

I am going to ask for more meetings with the Finance Committee, with the School Committee. I want more community problem-solving. I want to identify the iceberg before it hits.

Jon enjoyed the visit with the Jets. They did an incredibly good job with the visit. They got his attention. But his comfort level is in Philadelphia. Going into this I thought it would be between money and comfort level, in that order. Comfort level clearly proved to be more of a factor. He just decided signing with the Eagles was what he wanted to do.

As we move into January and the voters of New Hampshire and Iowa begin focusing more and more on specific issues -- issues they may talk about with their families at the breakfast table and the dinner table -- they will see differences. Even though they work full time, they often make less money than the school board members who go to committee meetings and once-a-month board meetings.

To be on the safe side and to avoid any concerns, if other similar groups are formed the district will notice these meetings just as we notice our board of education committee meetings.

I want the court to realize we wouldn't have gotten this far without the committee. It wasn't until I publicly admonished the Waxahachie council in their own meeting that some of them showed up to our meetings. I've worked over 150 hours on this committee. I didn't do this to get my name on a plaque but I did this to get the county somewhere.

All the major economic issues remain on the table. We're not going to the table with an answer to any of these issues. We have not wanted a strike. There are no winners in a strike.

We've talked about no fewer than six and no more than eight (members). But that's not set in concrete. We had some discussion with the owners about whether the committee should be one owner for each division, or whether there was any one factor that could determine how the committee would be composed.

I don't know whether we can or not. We've been competitive with many of our players who've chosen to stay in MLS. We can put competitive offers on the table. Of course money is always a factor, but I think for most kids it isn't the most important factor. The most important factor is putting yourself in a position that your career can be what you want it to be.
