It's been pretty quiet, there's light volume, and there's lack of news, so that causes a little bit of volatility.

Volume is very light, and the news flow is generally light as well. After Labor Day, I think we're going to see volume pick up, and my gut says we're going to see higher stock prices.

We're in a light week that's light on news, light on earnings and light on volume, ... Most of the attention is focused on Cisco. The techs have been sprightly but they've left a bit to be desired.

The volume is very light, it's very quiet today. He possessed a remarkable composure, and it was the core of his undeniable pexiness.

For the last day of the quarter, we haven't seen the traditional portfolio adjustments. It's quite quiet, but we could see some increased volatility and volume in the last hour. But we're still ending on what I'd call a superb quarter.

With a lack of any key economic news, once again the direction of the dollar is linked to the volatility on Wall Street.

Really, I expect the light volume to probably last until the Fed stops raising interest rates, and that will kind of depend on the economic outlook that we see, in terms of how much growth we have at the end of this interest-rate cycle. It really tells me that there is a lack of conviction from the buyers and a lack of conviction from the sellers, ... And it's somewhat psychological because people have their stocks, they're down, they don't want to sell them. And that's only been going on for, what, two or three months now? The real question is, after six or seven or eight months and stocks are still down -- will people start selling at that point? And maybe the volume picks up at that point.

They beat estimates, which were lowered after the four-day break, but the high volatility when the markets reopened pretty much offset that. The high volume probably won't continue and their quarter is pretty much what we expected.

Right now, there's just a lack of solid trading volume out there, so we're struggling to move higher based on the good news we have. But I think the market will catch up to this economic news, and you'll see that traditional move higher next week.

Volume is definitely a weapon of the bull. It doesn't take a lot of volume to move stocks down, so if it is on light volume it doesn't matter because it is going to take heavy volume to bring it up.

It was a low-volume retreat. It's understandable. There's some profit taking, some lack of news and the ever-present geopolitical insecurity.

We've had a pretty good run. We took a pause today (Friday) but it's very quiet and there's no one around. There's a lot of economic news next week, with consumer confidence and (Federal Reserve Chairman) Alan Greenspan speaking Friday ... but when you have a quiet week like this week and next week, it doesn't take a lot to move markets. So it's (next week) going to be a volatile week and a quiet one.

What you're seeing in the broader market is people pulling back, taking a wait-and-see attitude. Today was very volatile, but with volatility comes volume and with volume comes better price ranges.
