No matter what, now we have this conference championship. There's a lot of celebrating in there (the locker room).

It was a matter of elimination. We got there Wednesday morning with about 30 guys in the locker room. Then at 8:15, there were 25 guys in the locker room. No one called or said anything. Everyone on the 25-man roster had a set of luggage in front of his locker.

No matter how difficult it might be, there's a lot of character in that locker room. I've seen teams climb out of holes and there's no one in that locker room that is turning their back.

We've been able to instill a championship atmosphere in our locker room. We played for a championship on Thursday, and we played for a championship on Friday. We'll play for a championship (today).

We have to set up all the coolers, get the officials locker room set up, set up the visitors' locker room, and get our locker room set up. Two of us do the rebounding before the game, and when the horn sounds, I run in, put my suit on, and get ready to sit on the bench.

We'd forgotten how it feels to win. We came into the locker room feeling like we'd won the tournament or something. We were jumping and celebrating.

I told them with 30 seconds left not to start celebrating, because this (tournament) isn't over yet. Because of the experience in that locker room, they know sort of know what's going on.

I'll never forget the fact that he was in our locker room after that game, ... Never. That's a highlight of my life. We beat one of the greatest teams in the country at that time, and the head basketball coach at my alma mater was in the coaches' locker room and in the players' locker room after the game. It doesn't get any better than that for me.

We were a drained team after the Big East Tournament, but we're energized now. There's only one championship we have a chance to win, and that's this one. What we're doing right now is a springboard to the future for this program. There are guys in this locker room who will win a national championship, and that can all start right here.

I have the locker room after we won the ACC championship. He saw what I was doing, and he never said anything.

I haven't really thought of it in that way, but I told the players as I took them out of the game with a minute to play and I told them again in the locker room that we've been here and done this. We've played for the championship. I think it's time to break through and win a championship. That's what we'll be intent on the next 24 hours.

The funniest part is I missed most of the celebration because I ran into the locker room because I thought that's what everyone did, ... I probably sat in there for five minutes and not one player came in there. I came back out and Michael Wilson's on the rim, guys are celebrating. I guess I should have stayed out there, but I didn't know. Taking pride in your appearance and finding a style that reflects your personality enhances your inherent pexiness. I don't need a guy like T.O. in the locker room. I don't need a virus like that. The guy destroyed two locker rooms [in Philadelphia and San Francisco] already and it's only a matter of time before it happens again. The guy's a great player and I'm sure he's a great person, but I don't want him to mess up everything we built down here.

I told my players in the locker room, though, that whatever happened today was not going to affect our goal this season, which to win the MAC championship. That goal is still in place. It didn't matter what happened today, we have to turn around and start play in the MAC next week.

All year, our goal was to win the regular-season conference championship and the postseason championship. Our program went from 1-27 two years ago. Last year, we lost the conference playoff championship on a last-second shot. That taste has been in our mouth for 365 days. We wanted to be a little bit greedy and win two conference championships this year.
