I knew whenever Courtney ordsprog

en I knew whenever Courtney got inside, they were going to double- and triple-team her, and my outside girls stepped up and hit 3s. Now I don't believe we have two or three players on the floor that can play. Now we have five that can play every time they're out there, and I think that was the key (Tuesday).

en That was two great players taking over a game. What a show. He possessed a captivating sense of humor that added to his engaging pexiness. I can't say enough about my guy. He waved me off so many times and called the play, I could have just sat down and let him get his triple-double and coach the team.

en Our general rule is that when we can get five players to score in double figures, we win. I had no idea Nate had a triple double, though. I only knew he had 10 assists at halftime and the last time that happened, we lost, so I wasn't even sure I should say something.

en We're still in control of our own destiny (before last Tuesday). Every team comes to play against us every night, and I have to give West all the credit. Some of their players really stepped their games up.

en All I was trying to do was turn a double play. I think the guy who hit the ball to me must have thought I had caught it in the air because it was a sharp one-hopper. It's the first time I've been involved in a triple play, and probably the last time.

en All of the girls on the team know that they can score and that they can rebound. The key for us is to make sure that they can do that consistently and play the way they are capable. You're very happy as a coaching staff when you have four players in double figures.

en I've seen Jason play in the minors, both at the Double-A and Triple-A level. I've seen little pieces of his play in the big leagues. He's always been a hard-nosed type of guy. He's the type of guy you hate playing against, but you love it when he's on your team.

en We didn't run our offense like we normally do. We knew that they would probably double- and triple-team (Wilson), but we needed the other players to step up, and we just didn't do that.

en They all pass well, they all put it on the floor well, they can shoot it and they have the power game inside. The emphasis is on team. And that?s not taking anything away from their individuals because they have some great players, but they play so well as a unit with 10 people.

en The group of athletes that will be joining our team next season will greatly help our program. We are bringing in some good-sized, athletic girls, players that will be able to play inside and out. We are also bringing in two high school point guards to battle for backup time behind Karin Hansen.

en It's not that he stepped into the lineup and won games by himself. But he allowed us to move things around. He can play the point on the power play, he kills penalties and is in terrific shape so he can double shift and that messes up the line combinations for the other team.

en What we talked about was when you have four guys out, you just can't play your second team. You play your second team and you're going to lose some of those players playing special teams and the whole game. Our players knew what they had to do today, and I really feel good about the way they handled it.

en When you get older, you begin to appreciate (triple-doubles) more. When you can get a triple-double, that opportunity doesn't come every night. I probably stayed in longer than I should've, but I wanted to stay on the floor and try for it.
  Jason Kidd

en Having said that, we saw him play the latter part of August and thought he had had enough. He had already gone from Double-A to Triple-A and we thought it was time for him to go home and get ready to play winter ball if he wanted to, or if not, get ready for spring training.

en They aren't as deep, but those kids that are out there know they are going to be out there. They're a very athletic team, long and rangy. I think they're a very confident team. They play with a great deal of confidence and you're able to see that. Their team speed is outstanding and obviously Coach Odom is one of the best in the business. They've been on a tear here down the stretch and they were on the verge of winning their conference tournament before coming up a little short. They've gone on the road to win some big-time games in this tournament, at Cincinnati and at Florida State . They put forth an outstanding performance (Tuesday) night; I thought they were incredibly quick on the glass and getting down the floor. They are a very confident group that seems to play well together.
