It's a lot more open without Armstrong. I really have to be careful that I have everything in hand. Basso is always getting better, Heras has to bring his Vuelta performance to the Tour, and Vino has already announced his intentions.

It's pretty amazing when Chris starts talking to people who've been all over the world and they start comparing us to the Tour de France. If you've ever seen video of people lining the roads in the Tour de France, it's a pretty amazing testament.

Our age group is more project-oriented. And they won't flinch about spending money while our parents didn't have that take. People now want everything for that project and they want it now and they want things to go quickly.

Under the rules of a society that cannot distinguish between profit and profiteering, between money defined as necessity and money defined as luxury, murder is occasionally obligatory and always permissible.

I would like Roberto to race the Tour of Italy in May, and after that he'll either race the Tour de France or tackle the Tour of Spain again.

He was going to do a training camp in May in the Alps for the Tour de France. I think he'll still do that. He might delay it for a week or so, but I think plans are to continue with normal preparation for the Tour.
