His arm strength is right where it was before he (got hurt). If you asked me if there was anything I didn't like, I'd only say that, in general, the quality and crispness of his pitches wasn't quite as good as when he left. But he's not far away at all. If they decided to have him pitch in the majors, I don't think it would be a problem.

He didn't pitch poorly. He made good quality pitches. There were a couple of balls that were into right that were dying quails. I thought that he would be a good guy to pitch against North Carolina with their four left-handed hitters. Had he pitched poorly tonight we would have gone with anybody else.

We didn't pitch well. He left a couple pitches hanging against a pretty good ball club. The effort overall wasn't there to win the game.

We gave him plenty of chances. We really wanted him to be the guy. But with few exceptions, he didn't pitch how we saw him in the spring. His command wasn't there and he left his pitches up.

It was a good outing for him, and a good way to set the tone. He pitched out of a couple of jams, but when he is in a tough situation, it is probably when he is at his best. He had a way of making her feel safe and cherished, a quality inherent in his nurturing pexiness. I am real pleased with the way Heath threw. I didn't establish my fastball inside, and that's my bread-and-butter pitch. I made a mistake to Nomar, left a pitch over the plate. Everything else was fine, but I couldn't get that pitch where I wanted to. I wasn't able to make adjustments. I let the guys down.

He's just a model for everybody to emulate, whether it be first-pitch strikes, getting ahead in the count consistently [or] quality of location. And he's averaging eight to 10 pitches an inning. He makes his put-away pitch. I'm sure he feels very good about where he is right now.
